Negoto Recorder Privacy Policy

Overview

Negoto Recorder ("the App") is a personal app that records snoring and sleep talking during sleep.

All recordings, sleep records, and settings are stored only on your device. They are never sent to the developer's or any third party's servers. The developer never receives any of your data.

The iOS version displays a banner ad at the bottom of the screen. Ads are served by Google (AdMob), and for this feature alone the device communicates with Google. See "Advertising" below. The Android version has no ads.

Information stored on your device

All of the above is stored in the private area the operating system allocates to the App (Android: app-private scoped storage / iOS: app sandbox). Other apps cannot read it.

Information we do not collect

The App does not collect any of the following:

• Personal information such as name, email address, or phone number
• Location data
• Contacts, photos, calendar, or data from other apps
• Crash logs or usage analytics

The App has no account registration and requires no sign-in.

Your recordings and sleep records are never used for advertising. No audio or sleep data is passed to ad serving; it never leaves the device.

Advertising (iOS version only)

The iOS version displays a banner ad at the bottom of the screen. Ads are served by Google (AdMob).

• Ads are always requested as non-personalized. They are not tailored to your interests.
• No tracking. The App does not request App Tracking Transparency permission and does not obtain the advertising identifier (IDFA).
• However, Google does use device identifiers for frequency capping and fraud prevention. Identifier use within that scope is unavoidable.
• Ads never appear during a recording session. When you start a session the ad is disposed of, so it consumes no network or battery while you sleep.

The Android version has no ads and performs no advertising-related communication.

Transmission outside the device

Apart from ad serving on iOS (above), the App performs no network communication. It contains no analytics SDK or crash reporting SDK.

The following occur only as a result of the user's own action:

• Sharing: When the user taps the share button to send a recording clip or nightly summary to a recipient or app of their choosing. The user selects the destination and initiates the transfer.
• CSV export: When the user exports sleep records as a CSV file to a destination of their choosing.

Data transferred off the device through these actions is then subject to the privacy policy of the receiving app or service.

Microphone use

The App requests microphone permission in order to record. The microphone is used only between the moment the user starts a session and the moment they stop it, and only segments exceeding the configured volume threshold are saved as recordings. A foreground service notification is displayed continuously while a session is active, so it is always apparent that recording is in progress.

Audio analysis

To classify sounds such as snoring and sleep talking, the App runs an on-device machine learning model (YAMNet). This analysis is completed entirely on the device; audio is never transmitted externally.

The iOS version offers sleep-talk transcription as an experimental feature. That processing is also completed entirely on the device. (This feature is not present in the Android version.)

Data retention and deletion

• Recordings are automatically deleted, oldest first, according to the configured storage limits (number of nights and total size) and retention period.
• Individual recordings and nightly records can be deleted at any time from within the App.
• Uninstalling the App removes all data it has stored from the device.

Because the developer does not hold any user data, no data deletion request to the developer is necessary.

Children

The App is not directed to children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date revised.
